Veg and tofu stirfry with rice

Share a few recent shots from your camera roll, no context needed.

Mum has been utterly unbearable today – whiny, clingy, passive-aggressive, and sometimes plain aggressive (what did that poor chair she kicked ever do to her?) – so rather than rehashing the day’s misery I thought I would respond to today’s prompt.

Regular readers will recognise some – maybe all – of these photos, so apologies for running a revised repeat this evening. I know it says “no context needed”, but I’ve added it anyway.

My favourite photo of Suki, because I will take any opportunity to share her beauty.
Pretty flowers for mum from my BIL.
The Great British Pub, ladies, gentlemen, and enbies.
A dramatic tree, Ryde.
Here comes a storm, Isle of Wight edition.
No paint applied: it grows like that.
A juvenile goldfinch (I think) against a ridiculously blue sky.

After a ridiculously long and difficult day, I made a veg and tofu stirfry for dinner. Mum surprised me by not disliking the tofu, but took two bites of the stirfry and declared it “not my sort of thing”. I think I just made it too flavoured, with ginger, garlic, rice wine vinegar, and soy sauce. I thought it was very tasty, and will have the rest for lunch tomorrow.

And now into an evening of mum whining and complaining and asking if she can go to bed yet, followed by a night of her waking me up every couple of hours to ask if she can get up yet. Dementia is a miserable illness for all concerned: add it to existing mental health issues and a narcissistic personality and you get… well, even more misery for everyone. 🤷‍♂️
