Tuna pesto and cheese jacket potato
Once again mum was better today. She got up under her own steam, identified the clothes she wanted to wear, and put them on, with only the smallest of hints from me.
She made herself a cup of tea, and me a cup of coffee, and expressed satisfaction that she could do so. Later in the day she abandoned her usual spot in front of the television and went out in the garden, where she happily pruned things and planned what she wants the gardener to do next time he’s here.
She made jokes, and laughed at mine, and was generally more like her old self. I’m not sure whether to be sad or furiously angry at the thought of the misery and isolation of the past few months, when apparently simply removing one small tablet was enough to lift it all.
With the lifting, though, has come a crash in my own energy. I haven’t really achieved much today except some laundry laundered and a chunk of book read.
And I have just remembered that the laundry is still in the machine, so I better go and brave the Strictly sparkles in the living room to hang it up to dry.
See you tomorrow!
