Stirfried veg with laksa sauce and brown rice

Today’s post is more of an anecdote.

We spoke to my BIL on the phone: he’s been off work injured and, as a result, is very short of money. Mum asked me to transfer some of her money to him, which meant fighting with her ancient computer as that’s where her online banking is set up.

Fighting with the stubborn old PC meant diving behind the metal table it stands on, in the process hurting my shoulder.

Mum looked at me holding my shoulder and wincing as I tried to massage some life back into it, and said “I’m getting another ice cream. Will there be more soon?”

So… yeah. Apparently in mum’s list of priorities I come below the delivery of additional Soleros. 🤷‍♂️

It’s so hot that Suki has melted.

For dinner I made a laksa sauce, from a Simply Cook kit, then stirfried some veggies and microwaved some rice. Mum tried the sauce, screwed up her face, and said “it’s very salty”.

So she had sweet chilli sauce instead, and I had the laksa sauce and have been gulping down water ever since because it was, in fact, very salty. I hate it when she has a point. 🫤
