Homemade(ish) prawn korma with garlic naan

I might think that, when a day has gone by as fast as today has, I would have a lot to write about. Somehow, though, that’s not the case.

Mum’s anxiety has decided to focus itself on her… erm… toileting frequency, possibly because yesterday I was talking about the referral to urology. Reading online indicates that a diary of fluid intake and output is useful to urologists, so I started keeping one and found that mum was going to the bathroom, on average, every twenty minutes. That’s a lot of diarising.

This afternoon we had a grocery delivery, so we’re once again stocked up on essentials (although not coffee ice cream, which was, calamitously, out of stock). The cheerful delivery driver told me, cheerfully, that there’s an amber storm warning for this weekend. If, like me, you weren’t aware of it, consider this your cheerful notification of uncheerful weather ahead.

This evening I cooked a prawn korma curry, from a Simply Cook kit. Unlike yesterday’s, this one was genuinely delicious: mum just “mmm”ed when I said how good it was, but finished her serving and wiped up the remaining sauce with a bit of naan, so she couldn’t have had too much of a problem with it.

Finally, a rare Pineapple Sponge endorsement for a product: Ms Molly’s (Tesco’s cheapy confectionery brand) dark chocolate is 55p a bar (on the Isle of Wight, at least), Rainforest Alliance accredited, and good enough that even mum, usually a bit of a chocolate snob, said “mmm, not bad”, crunch, crunch “very nice, actually”.

[@Tesco: in the unlikely event you read this, I’m happy to accept acknowledgement in cocoa-based forms. 😉]
