Korean chicken, rice, salad
It really has been a four seasons sirt of day.1It really has been a four seasons sirt of day.
Not in terms of weather, which has been uniformly wet and windy, but in terms of mum’s mood: we’ve had tears and despair, pain-induced irritability, anxiety and self-disgust, confusion and forgetfulness, then finally clarity of thought (or as close as mum gets these days, sadly), good humour and jokes. It’s left me exhausted, so I can only imagine what it’s doing to mum.
That apart (and it’s a big “that” – I don’t generally think of myself as a carer as mum’s capable of doing most things herself, but just dealing with the mood swings is serious work), there’s not much to report for today: I did a bit of work on my book, amended our grocery order three times (the first time because I forgot to include fruit, then twice more because mum suddenly thought of something she needed), played numerous rounds of my current favourite game2, then somehow it was time to cook dinner.
Dinner was another Simply Cook recipe box, this one Korean sticky chicken. I think I did something wrong, as it didn’t turn out remotely like the image on the website:

While mine:

In an unusual twist, mum thought it was OK and finished hers, while I thought it was actively unpleasant and didn’t, which is why I’m snarfing chocolate digestives while writing this, and trying to ignore my mental jukebox which still has Frankie Valli warbling away.
Right, I must away: I have players from across the globe to beat in my mobile game, which I’m good at because I don’t think tactics are just a brand of mints.
