Sausage and pepper stirfry with egg fried rice

Today is one of those days where I feel like I haven’t really done much but, when I think about it, I’ve actually been quite productive.

I finished the minutes of last week’s committee meeting, and sent them to the other committee members for review. I also did a quick bit of research on the costs of purchasing an appropriately-named web domain, and sent that information along with the minutes. I wasn’t asked to do that – it just occurred to me while writing the minutes that it might be a good idea. Idk if the other members will agree, but I tried.

Then I called the pharmacy to ask when we would be getting the next delivery of mum’s pain meds, which we’re running a bit low on. This evening, hopefully, if the pharmacist has the energy to do the delivery after work

Interestingly, mum’s headaches have been slightly better recently but today, after a coffee ice cream dessert last night, it was back to ‘orrible (to use mum’s word of choice). She reluctantly agreed with my suggested plan to cut out the coffee ice cream on days when she has something on the next day, but is already grieving the loss of Saturday evening ice cream. Poor mum. 😥

After lunch, I did our grocery order (a day late, and we’re already out of fresh fruit – oops) and meal plan for the coming week. While doing so, I had one of the many ‘sensory disturbances’ in my legs, this one giving the sensation of something leaning against my leg.

I’ve decided to call the fish ‘Sushi’, for obvious reasons.

You almost certainly guessed instantly that this sensation was caused by something small and tabby leaning against my leg, hinting very strongly that it was about time for her lunch, thank you very much.

Then I made my first attempt at getting one of mum’s friends to accompany her to one of her dentist’s appointments, and got one of them sorted at the first attempt. Only one more to go.

Then I did some laundry and hung it up to dry, cleaned Suki’s litter tray (both with help from mum), then sent a Suki update to Cats Protection, as they were keen to know how she was getting on, both because she was a staff favourite and to get content for their social media.

Then it was time for dinner, which was another of my ‘running low on groceries’ meals: chipolatas and frozen peppers (the last of both) with hoisin sauce (a cupboard staple, as mum loves it), with homemade egg fried rice. Mum declared it “yum!”, which is currently the highest accolade she gives.

Then I had [miaow!] some chocolate cake [miaow!!] with ice cream [MIAOW!!!]. And then I gave into Suki’s [I SAID MIAOW!!!] increasingly unsubtle hints that she wanted an early dinner. Hopefully she will reward me with more snuggles for what remains of the evening. Go, Suki-puss. 😻
