Fish, waffle fries, salad / banana cake and yoghurt

After the busy-ness of the past week, I was intending to sleep late this morning, so of course on the dot of 9am my phone rang. I answered, but got only silence in response.

I hung up with a roll of my eyes, put down my phone, and it rang again. This cycle repeated three more times, at which point I realised that my late sleep wasn’t going to happen. The caller finally got through to me using his mobile phone, having given up on his employer’s internal phone system which he couldn’t work out how to use!

Mum’s tablets didn’t turn up yesterday – not that I can blame the pharmacist as it was pouring yesterday evening and I wouldn’t have wanted to linger out in it either – so she was once again feeling quite unwell this morning. Maybe by chance, or maybe (probably) because I wasn’t going anywhere, she started feeling better far more quickly than yesterday.

I checked the porch, just in case the tablets had miraculously appeared, and they had: the bag was sitting on the doormat as if dropped off by Father Christmas. Thank you, pharmacy team!

For the rest of the day I had time to do lots of useful things, but I mostly played games until late afternoon when I finally made use of a trio of overripe bananas and turned them into my favourite banana cake. As usual, mum said how delicious it looked and that she couldn’t wait to try it. And, also as usual, after dinner she decided to have coffee ice cream instead.

Don’t forget to wipe the sides of the bowl before putting it in the oven!

Dinner itself was fish and waffle fries from the freezer, with salad, because I just couldn’t be bothered with cooking.

So that’s today. Barely worth the effort of blogging about, tbh. 🤷‍♂️
