Sausage and apple traybake with potato dauphinoise and green beans

Another day of mum panicking about her health and whether it would stop her from doing what she wants to do. As the morning went on my responses got shorter and shorter, but even my vague “hmm” noises didn’t stop the endless flow of complaints about parts of my mother I would rather not think about.

Thankfully Romesh Ranganathan came to the rescue again, with two back episodes of The Weakest Link keeping mum distracted enough that – amazingly (not) – her health problems improved. Of course all good things must come to an end: the battery on my laptop started running low, we moved to the living room, and mum started complaining again. Sigh.

This afternoon we had a delivery of a few things I ordered in the sales online, and mum made her customary complaint “where am I supposed to put all this stuff?” Because there’s nothing like having your housemate imply you too up too much space to make you feel welcome.

Not bad for a tenner. Get yours here: https://shopping.rspb.org.uk/sale/solar-powered-wire-bee-wall-art.html

One box, the same length of a shoebox and maybe twice the width, contained one (1) can of deodorant, and one (1) bottle of vitamin tablets. And a LOT of packing. Shame on you, Boots. ๐Ÿ˜

[Nearly an hour has passed since I started writing this post, as I keep getting distracted by The Masked Singer. ๐Ÿ™„ So this last bit is going to be a bit rushed so I can stop badly doing two things and just do one at a time.]

Dinner was the sausage traybake I’ve done several times, with a Tesco Finest potato dauphinoise which I could easily eat by itself: you just can’t go wrong with slices of potato in a creamy, garlicky sauce. ๐Ÿคค

So [another ten minutes have passed ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„] – thank you and goodnight. I’m off to watch the weirdest programme on television and see if I can correctly identify who’s behind any of the masks.
