Prawn and green bean korma, rice, mini samosas

I’ll be keeping this short and sweet, as it’s NYE and I’m off out to ring in the new year with ๐Ÿฅ‚ and ๐ŸŽ‡, staying up until ๐ŸŒ….

Nah, of course I’m not – it’s tv and an early night for me, as always – but I won’t keep you if you’re off out to have some fun.

I have been even more tired than usual today, but the floor needed washing and laundry needed doing, so that was what mum and I did. Then I collapsed on the bed with my laptop and built this โฌ‡๏ธ in The Sims.

It’s not my photo: credit to Fullers Pubs, who own it.

It’s a pub I have drunk in many times with various friends and family, on the very edge of Portsmouth Harbour, and it’s a great place for drink outside the main tourist season. (During the season it’s practically impossible to get to the bar or to find a seat if you do manage to acquire a drink.)

Then I made a curry using a Patak’s kit, which got a surprised “this is really nice” from mum. I agree, although something a bit spicier than a korma would have been nicer still. It has always been a family tradition to get an Indian takeaway on New Year’s Eve, and I probably could have done that tonight but I have literally only just thought of it, so curry in kit form it was. One of these days I will finally get the meal I dreamed of while I was in hospital – channa (chickpea) masala, saag paneer (spinach and cheese curry), onion bhaji, raita, and paratha – but that day sadly wasn’t today.

And on that note, I’m off to eat something sweet. Happy New Year, all, and may the coming year be sweet for us all.
