Jacket potatoes with grated cheese and salad (and leftover pigs in blankets in blankets)
Today was a bad headache day for mum, so much of my time and energy went on consoling and reassuring mum that it would get better in time for her to go to church on Sunday. At one point mum said she didn’t know why she had a headache, I said it was because she was stressing about getting to church, she said she wasn’t, and I pointed out that she had mentioned church at least once every 20 minutes since I’d got up. ๐
(Well, since I’d got up for the second time. The first time was just before 6am, when I woke up from a dream visit by my late, much-missed cat with a poem running through my head and grabbed my phone to write it down. I shated it on Facebook and a family friend who has had her poetry published said it was “good”, which was quite a compliment.)

We watched yesterday’s House of Games on my laptop – or at least I watched it, and mum talked through it – then a friend of mum’s came round to visit. Sadly, mum had to send him away because her head was hurting too much to be sociable.
Then I did some laundry, watched some tv and ate a giant gingerbread person from Graces, then cooked a couple of potatoes for an easy and early dinner.

Then I had some chocolate ice cream with a Christmas tree shortbread, because it’s Christmas Eve Eve so why not have two giant biscuits in one day? Mum had coffee ice cream, which set her headache off again, which is a lesson to learn for both of us.
And that’s it for today. It’s been a nothing sort of day, which aren’t particularly fun to write about but are at least manageable to experience. And it had biscuits in it. ๐
