Chorizo gnocchi bake
Not much to write about today, because not much has happened.
Having finally got a proper prescription for pain meds, mum’s headache has been much better today. Rather than lingering all day, making her miserable, it’s been coming and going: still not great, but a vast improvement over recent days (and weeks, tbh).
With mum’s help, I planted some more bulbs, then we had ten minutes of frustration and bewilderment as mum searched the house and garden for a missing item, while I tried to convince her that the item she was looking for had never existed. (She has two large plastic bucket-type things for collecting plant cuttings, and for some reason she was convinced there was a third one.)
A little later, mum offered to make me a cup of coffee, but immediately emerged from the kitchen as she couldn’t remember how to make it. With prompting, coffee got made, but I had to pour it away when mum wasn’t looking because she’d put sugar in it, and I’ve never taken sugar in my coffee.
Most of the time, mum’s physical health problems take up nearly all of my mental bandwidth, and I can ignore the implications of her memory loss. When it does leap up and hit me, like today, it hits me hard, until I can find some way to bury it under everything else again.

For dinner I did a new Simply Cook recipe, for gnocchi baked with chorizo, tomatoes, and cream. I made a few changes to the recipe to suit mum’s tastes, using cherry tomatoes rather than tinned and single cream rather than creme fraiche, but I think I still liked it more than mum did. There are leftovers for lunch tomorrow, too.
So that’s that, again. See y’all tomorrow.
