Garlic chicken, roast baby potatoes, mixed veg

Today mum had a friend cone to visit, so naturally my day started at quarter to seven with “I don’t feel well, tell her not to come”. I made soothing sounds and told her to go back to bed as the friend wasn’t due to arrive for hours.

For the rest of the day, mum repeated that she didn’t really want to see her friend, that she could stay for a cup of tea then leave, and that she definitely didn’t want to go for a walk. The friend arrived, asked mum if she wanted to go for a walk, and got an enthusiastic “yes!”. I give up. 🤷‍♂️

While they were out, I finished my jaguar with some amateurish decoration, then turned to writing and finished chapter two of my book. Then I decided that was enough creativity for one day and went back to playing games on my phone. (I’m less than a thousand points away from a £50 reward from the “pay for play” app, which I will either put towards my new laptop or towards something less useful and more tasty.)

A perfectly camouflaged hunter, as long as it’s hunting in a paint factory.

This evening is the first really summery one of the year (i.e one where I don’t want regular infusions of hot coffee), and would have been perfect for salad if we’d had any. Instead we had mixed veg with our garlic chicken and roasted new potatoes, and (chicken aside: it’s from Iceland’s BBQ range and really good) was very ordinary indeed.

Tomorrow is grocery delivery day – “goody – food!” said mum (‘food’ being not just anything edible, but specific coffee ice cream) – so if the heat continues we will be able to have salad for dinner. That such things are the highlight of my daily thought process says a lot about how interesting my life isn’t atm.
