Parsnip soup, sandwiches, cheese and biscuits, apple, yoghurt, Biscoff millionaire’s shortbread
So tired. 🥱
A combination of daily physio, the stress of trying to get mum home (at least that one’s sorted now), trying to sort out my own life (not being able to work for months plays havoc with your finances – who knew?), and just generally trying to keep my head above water leaves me struggling to stay awake at a time I would once have been just starting to think about going out for the evening.
So I really, honestly will keep this short, I promise.
Soup of the day was parsnip: another creamy, vaguely curryish soup, this time slightly sweeter – because parsnips are naturally sweet – and with the tiniest hint of spicy heat at the back of the throat. Very nice, as always: 9/10
Sandwiches: two corned beef and pickle, one egg and bacon in mayo. Properly filled tonight, too: 7/10

Cheese and biscuits: a good selection of biccies, two pieces of nice medium-to-mature cheddar, and a bit of brie that had welded itself to the plate and had to be scraped off with the soup spoon, showing it was properly ripe. Being a fussy foodie I would have preferred a third type of cheese and/or a bit of chutney, but still: 9/10
Biscoff millionaire’s shortbread: I promised a proper review of one of these, didn’t I? It won’t be of this one – or at least it won’t be with photos of this one – because I seem to have eaten it all. 😳 Umm… 10/10, would devour again?

Overall score: [hang on, let me open the calculator app…] 8.75/10
That was positively monosyllabic by my standards, wasn’t it? See y’all tomorrow. 🥱
